‘The Acorn’ is the first of a collective of spaces anchored in the vision of cultivating community through self expression, radical self-awareness, and the exploration of altered states of consciousness.
Piece by piece; screw by screw; from a hand mixed bucket of concrete to a mantra infused, sage painted base - ‘The Acorn’ was built. The space has held countless, humbling moments of transformation, connection, and cultivation of community that knows that when it is here, it belongs.
Bold and geometric. Sacred and multidimensional.
Intimate and strong. Eccentric and womb-like.
A 16’ x 16’, 13’ high temple.
Built with the intention of cultivating intimacy, authenticity, vulnerability, and expansion.

You are invited to join Sofia Padilla and Ritika Ganguly in a sensorially immersive space to gather around the simple act of humming with our voices and drawing with sand. Composer and voice coach Ritika will lead an intergenerational community of participants through breath and vibration. Together, we will create a profound sense of presence, pulling each other fully into an environment designed around humming in harmony and making patterns in the sand (on an overhead projector). These patterns are meant to align with participants' experiences of humming.
The workshops are trilingual (Hindi, English, Spanish), and free!
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. 1 of a series of events focused on cultivating harmony through sound!
